Four years ago we planned a fabulous multi-day wedding experience for Tony and Jacob and their 120+ guests. To say I enjoyed planning with this amazing couple would be an understatement. My creative juices worked over time and we collaborated to create the most amazing pre-wedding celebrations (yes, two celebration days before the wedding), wedding day extravaganza, and recovery day. As a wedding professional who loves the details, this was a dream come true. The welcome party was a fun gathering at their Andaz Villa where large ALOHA marquee letters greeted all of the guests at a hosted BBQ and BAR evening. The next day the couple hosted a private luau where their initials and a heart were lit up in flames- intentionally- (called a logo burn) by the fire dancer. Guests enjoyed a lei and mai tai greeting, live Hawaiian music, a flower bar, yard games, a catered dinner, a full hosted bar, and a customized authentic Hawaiian luau for JUST THEM. I know...fabulous, right? And then, the wedding. The wedding had SO MANY amazing details and I want to share them with you HERE! https://lnkd.in/g_JM4YmNVisit that link to see all of the fun elements that might just inspire you for your wedding or next party. We love you, Tony and Jacob!

When surveyed, hundreds of couples responded with advice on what they wish they had done for their wedding. 🙄Enjoy these 10 responses from couples who wish they had known THIS to avoid their wedding planning mistakes. Discover more on our blog.We invite you to add your wedding planning advice in the comments section below. 1. Creating a budget was highly encouraged so that you could have a tangible number to work with when making decisions to cut back or splurge. 2. Much of the inspiration they found on social media was really a styled shoot and did not realistically work for a real wedding. 3. Oversharing ideas with others during the planning process made life harder instead of easier. 4. Many wish they had taken the time to sit down and really think about what they wanted for their wedding before starting to plan it. 5. Couples were shocked at how inconsiderate invited guests were about responding to the invites in a timely manner. 6. "I wish I had hired my wedding planner earlier in the process!" Many couples expressed how overwhelmed they were during the planning process and how they enjoyed it much more when they enlisted the help of a wedding planner. 7. You will not be able to please every person. Someone will be disappointed and there is nothing you can do about it. 8. "Set up a dedicated email! Give this email to all vendors, use it for every site you sign up for, email yourself ideas/notes/etc."9. Plan time for yourselves to spend some time alone during your wedding reception. 10. "Go into it knowing something will go wrong and laugh it off." No one else knows your plans, so they will think everything is perfect. Additional responses (they are so good!) can be found here https://lnkd.in/gtw_qDvy

Join us in wishing Amy and Patrick a happy 1st anniversary! We had so much fun planning their wedding, especially it's many personalized elements, including these 5 faves:1) The wedding ceremony was officiated by Patrick's mentor, who was also like a father figure to him. They will treasure forever this personalization forever. 2) As Maui locals, they could include their fur baby in their wedding. They even had a handler to take care of the dog's needs so they could maximize their time with their friends and family. 3) Incorporating Hawaiian culture was a priority for this couple, so they had a dear friend begin their ceremony processional with traditional Hawaiian chanting and blessing. Once the sun went down and the rain stopped, a fire dancer and drummer duo entertained the group. Hawaiian guitarist Josh Kahula played beautiful Hawaiian music on his guitar for the ceremony and was a strolling guitarist for the co*cktail hour. 4) Our bride loves calla lilies and orchids, so we made sure her bouquet was everything she wanted and loved. 5) Patrick and Amy really cared about the overall guest experience and wanted them to feel loved and appreciated from the time of arrival. As guests entered the ceremony space, they could take a champagne-filled or sparkling cider-filled champagne flute from the topiary wall. Each glass was infused with a genuine wild hibiscus flower and syrup. This wedding was pretty momentous for us at Celebrations by Tori, as well. Due to the storms that had hit the island, we moved the wedding inside the building at Pineapple Chapel. It was actually a perfect space and provided comfort for everyone. However, this changed the entire ceremony decor design that we had originally planned with the couple. In 24 hours, we bought and plucked the necessary items to build our own live wall of greenery and flowers. While this project was not the plan, it turned out to be pretty perfect, serving as a ceremony backdrop, lounge backdrop, and photo backdrop. This live wall literally brought the outside to the inside. So romantic! Thank you Patrick and Amy for trusting us to create this unforgettable wedding experience for you both.

I was today years old when I learned that so many people claim to have invented the margarita! Here are some stories and fun facts! 🍹Carlos "Danny" Herrera who created the drink at his Rancho La Gloria restaurant near Tijuana in 1938. It was inspired by his customer, an actress and former Ziegfeld dancer named Marjorie King, who was allergic to all hard alcohol except tequila. 🍹In 1948, Margarita Sames, a Dallas socialite, prepared margaritas in Acapulco for her friends, including Joseph Drown, owner of the Hotel Bel-Air, and Conrad Hilton, Jr., son of Hilton Hotel chain founder (who each ended up adding the drink to his hotel bar menu!).🍹Francisco "Pancho" Morales may have made the very first margarita on July 4, 1942 in Juárez, Mexico at Tommy's Place Bar. 🍹In 1948, Santos Cruz head bartender at the Balinese Room in Galveston, Texas, may have created the margarita for singer Peggy (Margaret) Lee. 🍹Margarita is the Spanish word for DAISY🍹According to Brown-Forman, Americans drink 185,000 margaritas per hour every day. 🍹The average American drinks 30.18 margaritas each year.🍹Jose Cuervo ads used the tagline, “Margarita: it’s more than a girl’s name”.I like my margarita frozen and sans orange liqueur. How do you drink your margarita? Cheers!

AVOID THESE HIDDEN WEDDING COSTS 🤑1. Cost of Rentals may not include delivery and set up. You may need to pay extra for a same-day strike. 2. Your venue may require that you shuttle guests to and from your wedding, as there is insufficient parking accommodations for your guest count. Remember, vendors need parking spaces.3. When you select a venue that is not conveniently located or easily accessible, there may be travel and hauling costs added to your invoice. 4. Remember to budget for tax, service charges, and gratuities.5. Tastings, Hair and Makeup Trials, and Flower Mock ups are not free, so include them in your budget if you want them. 6. If you hire vendors not-approved by your venue, there may be an additional fee to have them work your wedding. Why? The venue wants to make a percentage on the vendors you do not hire through them. 7. You hired a wedding band, but now you discover you need to rent a stage, lighting, and coverage for them. You also need to feed them. 8. If you hired performers, like dancers and aerialists, they may require a dressing room with amenities. 9. Did you spend you entire dress budget on the dress itself? What if you need alterations? 10. Remember to add your vendors to your meal count because you will need to feed the ones who are there for longer than 2 or 3 hours. They are also drinking soft drinks from your bar. 11. You chose the cheapest company for the up-lights, but you didn't know they required electrical outlets. Oops. Were the more expensive ones wireless? 12. Venues require insurance from you in addition to proof of the professionals' liability insurance. Be sure to budget for Wedding Insurance (we like Wedsafe.com)Were these tips helpful? Visit this site for additional wedding planning tips and resources https://lnkd.in/gzxZiyrT
