New grant funding will allow SCOR and The Nature Conservancy in South Carolina to protect and conserve the state's bottomland hardwood forests. These forests — located along rivers and characterized by tupelo, cypress, oak and black gum trees — store carbon and other greenhouse gasses that contribute to warming temperatures and rising seas. It is the largest grant ever awarded for nature-based climate solutions.
