  • Dr. Nicola Ritter, Instructional Associate Professor at Texas A&M University, completed National Animal Disease Preparedness and Response Program (NADPRP) research project with the release of a new Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician (FADD) Case Study: Animal Import Center. Texas A&M AgriLife Research developed the case study for USDA-APHIS Veterinary Services in their continued joint efforts to provide continuing education opportunities for veterinarians on Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) identification and disease outbreak response. In addition to developing this fourth FADD case study, the Texas A&M AgriLife Research developed an asset library to share media resources with USDA-APHIS FAD trainers, and updated the FAD manual – the field-ready reference manual used by FADDs across the country and U.S. territories. Since the training series launched in 2018, 276 veterinarians and animal health providers have enrolled in the on-demand course.
